Nursery Manager

Kathy

My name is Kathy and I have worked in childcare for over 30 years now including working as a nanny, working in nurseries, working as part of the early years team for a local authority.

More recently I was in charge of a Sure Start Children’s Centre before becoming the manager of Little Faces Nursery in 2015, where I also worked as a nursery practitioner 17 years ago.

I have a range of early year qualifications including a Foundation Degree in Early Years and Childcare and a BA (Hons) Degree in Education and Training. I also hold an Early Years Practitioner Status (EYPS). 

I have a grown-up son and a daughter, who are both currently studying, so I fully appreciate the time and dedication that is needed when bringing up children. As a parent we are the child’s first educator and the important role we play will lead to the child’s lifelong learning. My hobbies outside work include reading and kayaking.

Rosie

My name is Rosie. I have worked here at the Nursery since 1999 and became Deputy Nursery Manager in 2014. I was a child-minder for 14 years prior to joining the Nursery.

I am NVQ Level 3 qualified in Childcare and Education and am continually updating my training with various courses. I have worked with all of the different age groups throughout the Nursery. 

I also work for Jiveasy, which is a modern Jive dance group. I have been a coach since 2000 and have been dancing modern jive since 1998, along with Ballroom and Lindy Hop. 

I take pride in my work and will always have your child’s interests at heart, working closely with you to share any information of your child’s development. 

I am married with three older sons and also have two beautiful grandsons and three granddaughters.

Lesley

My name is Lesley and I hold a Level 4 qualification in Childcare, Learning and Development. Apart from a 10 month break, I have worked in this nursery for 29 years, where I gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in supporting children to achieve their full potential. I work in partnership with parents and outside agencies as well as managing a team of early years practitioners. I am also the Special Educational Needs and Behaviour Coordinator (SENCO)

I also have two grown up daughters and two beautiful grandsons.

I bring excitement and enthusiasm to my job role and find working with children extremely rewarding. I am therefore looking forward to seeing your children grow and achieve and I know that we are going to have lots of fun along the way!

My name is Linda and I have been here since June 1997. Over my time here I have worked in the Pre-School, 0-1 and 1-2 year rooms.

I have an NVQ Level 2 in Childcare and have topped up to NVQ Level 3 equivalent with Apel.

I am married, have two daughters and two grandchildren. My interests are our pets (rabbits and a cat) card-making, and scrap booking – both paper and digital.

My name is Jo and I have worked at Little Faces Nursery since 2007.

I hold an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and have worked with children of all age ranges here at the Nursery. My favourite thing about working with children is the bond you make with each of them and watching them as they learn and grow. I’m married with two children and I enjoy spending my spare time baking, cooking and reading.

My name is Lorraine and I have worked in childcare for 19 years. I hold a Diploma in Childcare (Distinction).

I have worked in this nursery for 8 years now. My interests include sewing and cooking.

My name is Vicki and I have worked at the Nursery for 14 years.

My previous experience includes working with special needs children, a mini bus driver, and respite carer for an autistic boy at the weekends. I have two sons one who is 18 years old and the other who is one year old.

My name is Jenny. I have been at little faces for 8 years. I have a passion for learning and hold various early years qualifications, having recently  obtained my early years degree I am now working towards a BA Hons in early childhood studies. 

Qualified to level 4 in safeguarding I am also a safeguarding lead.  Passionate about children and their development in practice I strive to provide a warm and nurturing environment full of irresistible engaging experiences which promote a love of learning so that every child may go on to reach their full potential.

If I’m not buried under books you'll find me with my family, it’s my favourite place to be.

My name is Gabrielle and I hold a Level 3 qualification in Children’s Care, Learning and Development. I completed my training here at the college in 2011.

In my spare time I enjoy going for walks, photography and spending time with family and friends.

What I most like about working with children is doing lots of creative and messy activities with them, which is great fun!

My name is Forida and I enjoy helping people and love working with little children.

I am a qualified Nursery Practitioner and hold both an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and BTEC Diploma in General Care, as well as First Aid. Additionally every year I attend courses to update my childcare skills.

My first language is Bangla, my second language is English, and I also speak Hindi, so I really enjoy helping people with translation. 

I am married and have two children – a boy and a girl. I like gardening, keeping pets, cooking, knitting and sewing.

My name is Emily and here at Little Faces Nursery I work in the room for children aged 1-2.

I have a great amount of experience working in a nursery setting, alongside having a Level 3 National Diploma in Child Development qualification from College. 

Working with children is a passion of mine, and has been for many years. What I enjoy most about working in childcare is helping children gain independence and setting them up for life with the skills they develop at nursery.

Katie

My name is Katie and I am CACHE Level 3 trained. I have worked with children in the voluntary sector and within nurseries since 2012.  I also work with children and young adults who have special educational needs, mostly planning and leading outdoor activities with them, such as rock climbing and archery.

In my spare time I enjoy gardening, reading and cycling and have recently taken up learning to play the ukulele.

My name is Caroline, I have worked at Little Faces Nursery since December 2017.

I am Level 3 qualified and have experience working in a variety of different nursery settings with children of different ages. I enjoy working in childcare because I feel it is a very rewarding job, and I believe every child deserves the best possible care. In my spare time I enjoy reading, creative writing, archery and Marvel films.

My name is Jayne, and I am a qualified nursery practitioner with a level 3 diploma for the Children and Young Peoples workforce.

I have worked in childcare for 5 years, focusing on children with additional needs. The thing love about working with children is that they are all individual, I enjoy helping them build their confidence and encouraging them to achieve their next steps. I am married, have two teenage daughters and two cats. When not working at the Nursery I fill my time with watching live music performances or spending time gardening in the sun.

My name is Deborah and I have been working within nursery settings for almost 10 years.

I hold a level 3 National Diploma in children's care, learning and development. One of my favourite things about working in childcare is helping children learn and achieve new things. I am excited to be a part of helping the children at Little Faces Nursery develop and grow. When not hard at work I enjoy nothing better than burying my nose in a good book.

My name is Brenda, I have worked at Little Faces Nursery since September 2017 but have been working in childcare since 2001.

I have a National Nursery Examination Board (NNEB) qualification. Since 2005 I have worked with children and young adults with additional needs, having spent a number of years working in a school providing one to one support to children. In my spare time I love spending time with my family and friends doing activities such as going to the cinema.

My name is Julie, I have worked in childcare since 2005 with children from ages 0-11 years old. As well a practical experience I also have an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare & Education.

I am married with two sons. In my free time I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends. I’m also a big fan of some retail therapy, reading a good book and going to concerts.

My name is Lauren, I have a Level 3 National Diploma in Child Development, Play and Learning.

This is my first job in a Nursery, although I did gain experience working in the baby room whilst I was a student at Havant & South Downs College. I enjoy going to the cinema, meals out with friends and I hope to explore more of the world by travelling in my spare time.

Rebecca

My name is Rebecca and I qualified with a BTEC National Diploma in Early Years in 2003.

I have worked in Nurseries at summer camps, spent a winter season in France. And spent 5 years onboard a cruise line where I managed all of the youth spaces for children aged 3 months to 17 years. Every day at Little Faces Nursery the children always manage to make me smile. I love the bonds we make and watching them accomplish new milestones is very rewarding. In my own time I enjoy travelling, extreme sports and reading.

I'm Josh and I have worked at Little Faces Nursery since October 2016. Prior to starting my job at the nursery I was a student at Havant & South Downs College where I gained my Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Play, Learning and Development.

During my time at College I was lucky enough to gain valuable experience through a work placement at Little Faces Nursery. Additionally, being one of the eldest of eight children I have plenty of practise looking after children. What I really enjoy about working with children is knowing I can make a difference to their lives by supporting them as they learn and grow. In my spare time I enjoy keeping active by playing football, and going to the cinema.
